NADIR - JRPG style Platform and PC game


Nadir's story comes from Divine Comedy.
World collapse, humanity extinguish only some survive. Life becomes hard and everybody tries to survive. Monsters all around and the fighters try to take them down.
You come to the world in that era, as a warrior with unique skills.
And there is only one focus, bring this story to the end.


Gameplay focuses on fighting single, very powerful enemies with a group of relatively weak but numerous characters. The Player has to inflict as much damage as possible to the enemy before he acts in his turn. Every player action brings down the Threat Counter, so combos need to be built in order to either deal as much damage as possible or delay the Threat Counter for as long as possible.
The goal of the game is to get out of the seemingly never-ending city.


There's a story behind every screen
When Shockwork game company contacted me to prepare the user interface, the first thing I did was to examine the graphics on Nadir's social media accounts.

I had read the divine comedy story like most people, and even watched movies and cartoons connected with it. I guess most of the scenes stayed in my mind because of the story's fascination and connection to us all.

A dark story, a post apocalyptic age, humans, monsters and robots. It didn't take me long to come up with and research the best mood-board I could.

Usually arcane art, old bible images, gravure prints, a little blood and a little worry and horror shaped the user interface.

Broken, uneven lines. The foundation of all perception on the dark. Linear lines formed by blood flowing on the ground. Written languages ​​used in ancient magic and demonic rites. I can say that it was not very difficult to create Nadir's user interface when it all comes together as a vector image. Different ideas were of course at first, but with the art management of the team and the research I had, we were able to finalize the interface of the game Nadir.
